    Tom —
    WordPress site agent

Tom is the AI site agent inside AutoToast managed WordPress hosting. He explains site health and proposes fixes that a person approves before anything changes.

    The job

Tom checks your WordPress site, explains what he finds and suggests fixes you approve.

Tom is the AI site agent inside AutoToast, AutoThink Group's managed WordPress hosting service for small businesses and agencies. He sits in the centre of the Site Tools workspace, alongside the hosting controls, and is designed to make running a WordPress site feel less technical.

Today Tom can answer hosting and WordPress questions, read a site's current state (status, DNS, SSL, backups, PHP, cache and usage) and explain it in plain English. When something needs changing, Tom prepares a specific proposal, for example clearing the cache, and a person approves or declines it. Approved changes run through the same controlled jobs as the manual tools, and risky changes are designed to take a backup first.

Tools for files, databases, WordPress updates, security scans and speed optimisation are implemented but have not yet been proven on a live WordPress server, so they are treated as beta.

    AI persona

    Calm, practical and plain-spoken.

Calm, practical and plain-spoken. Tom explains technical hosting issues in everyday British English, checks before suggesting changes and is clear about what he cannot do. Tom is an AI persona; no biography or qualifications are claimed.

    Behavioural boundaries

    • Tom never changes a site without human approval.
    • Tom does not handle billing, email hosting or anything outside the selected site.
    • Tom has no shell access.
    • Answers use AI and may be wrong; deeper tools are beta until proven on live servers.
    • No public API or MCP access is offered for Tom.

    Works within AutoToast

The agent is not the whole product.

AutoToast provides the hosting, billing, migration and team tools. These product capabilities sit outside Tom:

    • Buying hosting, Boost/CDN or Render plans and billing
    • The migration wizard for moving a site into AutoToast
    • Team members, invitations and workspace settings
    • The AutoToast Render video API, which does not use Tom
